Sometimes I wonder when enough will finally feel like enough.

We’re constantly thinking about the next thing.

How can I make more money?
Grow the business?
Create better content?
Reach more people?
Build something bigger?

And somewhere in all that ambition, we forget to turn around and look at the life we already created.

Because the little girl in me wasn’t dreaming about algorithms, revenue goals, engagement or scaling.

She just wanted to dance.
To travel.
To feel free.
To have people believe in her.
To make a living doing something she loved.
To build a life that felt exciting and hers.

And damn… look at us now. 🥹

Maybe success isn’t only about how far we can go.

Maybe sometimes success is being able to sit inside the life we once prayed for and say:

“Baby girl, we actually did it.”

There will always be another goal. Another idea. Another level.

But I never want my hunger for more to make me ungrateful for the life that once would have felt like everything. ❤️‍🔥

Teaching with a partner is a choreography of its own.

And most of it, the students will never even notice.

It’s moving between several languages without losing the flow.
It’s the micro-timing of knowing when to speak — and when not to.
It’s finishing the sentence when your partner forgets the word.
Picking up the energy when you feel the room getting tired.
Seeing that one student struggling in the corner while your partner keeps the rest of the class moving.

It’s a glance across the room that says:
I got this. You take that.

Because teaching is so much more than knowing your shit.

It’s years of learning symbiosis. Timing. Awareness. Trust.

All while standing in front of complete strangers who walked into the room with expectations of you.

And perhaps even more importantly - your partnership is teaching even when you’re not.

When you big up your partner, you unconsciously teach your students to celebrate each other.

When you give your partner space to shine, you show your students that someone else’s greatness doesn’t take away from yours.

When you openly respect each other’s knowledge and craft, you set a tone on the dance floor of mutual gratitude instead of competition.

When you disagree with respect, you teach them that different perspectives can coexist.

The culture of a dance community doesn’t only start with the students.

It starts in the teaching.

How we speak.
How we share space.
How we correct.
How we encourage.
How we treat the person standing next to us.

That’s the part of teaching you don’t learn from knowing more steps.

You learn it through years of standing beside another human being and figuring out how to lead together.

And now?

Whether you’re entering your very first battle or you’re already experienced, there is SO much more to passing preselection than simply having a lot of moves.

Here are some of my biggest tips:

⚡️ 1. The walk-in matters.

Before you even start dancing, people are already reading you.

Look up.
Shoulders back.
Place your hands intentionally.
Take a moment to connect with the music.

Confidence starts before the first step.

⚡️ 2. Build your story.

Don’t throw your entire vocabulary at us in the first 10 seconds.

Let the audience get to know you.
Create anticipation.
Pace your adrenaline.

You want enough fuel left for the final moments too.

⚡️ 3. Learn to isolate.

If everything moves at once, the eye doesn’t know where to look.

Control creates impact.

Sometimes one shoulder, one hip, one hand can say more than a full-body explosion.

(Otherwise we’re serving octopus energy 🐙😂)

⚡️ 4. Dynamics are everything.

Fast. Slow.
Big. Small.
Sharp. Smooth.

Surprises keep people engaged.

One-tone dancing is easy to forget.
Dynamics create memorable moments.

⚡️ 5. We remember YOU more than your moves.

Years later I might not remember your exact combo.

But I’ll remember your attitude.
Your confidence.
Your energy.
Your personality.

Your 60 seconds belong to you.

Take the space.

✨ The dancers who stand out aren’t always the ones with the biggest vocabulary.

They’re the ones who make us feel something.
